ABOUT US

SRVA masters is a swim team for adults of all skill levels.  We offer a welcoming environment for those seeking the many benefits of belonging to a team.  These include coached workouts, technique feedback, friendly competition, friendships, and events.

Practices are designed to accommodate all ability levels from novice swimmers to triathletes to high level competitive swimmers.  We encourage you to come try a workout and see how SRVA masters can help you achieve your goals.

HISTORY
SRVA Masters first started in September of 2012 with only 15 swimmers.  Since then, we have grown to a vibrant community of 80 swimmers and continue to grow every year.  Our mission is to help swimmers improve their swimming, get a great workout, and build community.  We are a team that does a lot of exciting events throughout the year.  We have hosted many team open water events including swims at Santa Cruz, Lake Del Valle, Alcatraz, and Golden Gate.  We do a challenge One Hour Swim at the San Ramon Olympic Pool which we call home.  We also compete at the Pacific Masters Short Course Championships every spring.

TESTIMONIALS
“I love the comradery on the team and especially in my lane.  SRVA masters has something for everyone.  For me this means keeping up my competitive spirit and maintaining a healthy regimen and striking a balance between the two.  What I really appreciate is that there are no expectations for attendance of competitive events, but if there is the interest then there always is a supporting team member.  The coaching really works for my swimming goals and helps me realize my potential without causing burnout.”

“When I joined Masters almost 2 years ago at the age of 46, I was very new to the sport of swimming. I had just learned to swim as an adult, but the few lessons and YouTube tutorials had left me struggling. When I learned that Masters was for all ages and abilities I decided to give it a try.  For me, it turned into an almost instant obsession. It is the first time in my entire life that I have stuck with any form of exercise. The coaching has taught me endless ways to improve my technique, and the practices always leave me with the greatest feeling of accomplishment.  Every practice I’ve been to has been completely unique.  Saturday morning is one of my favorites, because that’s usually a large group and a great chance to socialize with some of the nicest people I’ve ever met.”
